• Keep your account details secure
• Never write down your PIN or reveal it to anyone - HSBC will never contact you and ask for your PIN.
• Do not access your account on non-secure computers, e.g. Internet cafes, Universities, Hotels, Airport Lounges, etc.
• Change your PIN on a regular basis.
• When you have finished an Internet banking session, log off properly using the "Logoff" button.
• Always disconnect from the Internet when you've finished; never leave a connection on when you're not using the service.

* Virus protection programs check your computer system for viruses. A virus is a small program or piece of code that infects your computer. Viruses typically infect your computer via email or shared programs. These can be loaded onto your computer without your knowledge. Personal Firewall programs monitor traffic into and out of your computer and protect against unauthorised access. Together these programs provide increased protection of your personal data.
