Internet banking lets you manage your money the easy way


Internet Banking gives you control and flexibility over the way you manage your money and protects you with a high level of security with our Online Security Device.


Find out how to register for Internet Banking.

Once you have registered, you can:

  • view your balances and recent account activity night and day
  • move money between your accounts
  • set up recurring or one off transfers to any of your own bank accounts or someone elses account in New Zealand fee free
  • arrange overseas transfers *
  • arrange automatic payments
  • pay bills using Bill Payment fee free
  • change your personal details (eg if you move house)
  • stop cheques, order a new cheque book, contact HSBC and request historical statements
  • open a new term deposit and change maturity instructions
  • check loan balances and draw down funds

How to register

New Customers

The fastest way to register for Internet Banking if you are not a current HSBC customer is to open an Online Savings Account. Apply online.

 

Existing HSBC customers

To get started and keep your PC secure you need the following:



To have an Online Security Device and Personal Banking Number (PBN) plus Personal Identification Number (PIN) sent to you, download and complete this form and post it to


  • PO Box 5947, Wellesley Street, Auckland or fax it to 0800 80 30 80 and we will send them to you.


When you have received your Online Security Device, and your 2 personal ID numbers (either your Personal Identification Number and Personal Banking Number, OR your ATM card number and your ATM PIN), you'll be able to register online. This takes less than 5 minutes. (If you need to come back and do this later, just visit www.hsbc.co.nz and select 'register for Internet Banking' at the top right of the homepage)
