Over two hundred years after Cook first sighted Man O’ War we were convinced that world class wine could be grown here. Throwing caution to the wind we began planting our first vines in 1993. Today Man O’ War consists of 150 acres of vines planted in 76 individual hillside blocks, each with a distinct soil profile and microclimate. Man O’ War wines are presented in two collections, the Flagship Range and Man O’ War Range that represent their hallmark, elegance, balance and structure.

The Flagship Range

Our “Flagship” Range of Gravestone Sauvignon Semillon, Valhalla Chardonnay, Tulia Blanc de Blanc, Valkyrie Viognier, Exiled Pinot Gris, Dreadnought Syrah, Ironclad Merlot Cabernet Franc and Warspite Cabernet Franc Merlot blends convey layers of complexity, structure and ageing potential. Each lovingly named to reflect their history and exceptional sense of place.

The Man O’ War Range

Our “Man O’ War” range of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Rose and Merlot Cabernet Franc blend express varietal character and fruit vibrancy in a classical style which captures their unique place of origin.

Man O’ War Tasting Room

Journey to the Eastern End of Waiheke Island via the loop road, or come by sea, and you will find our Tasting Room sitting on the beach front at Man O’ War Bay surrounded by Pohutukawa trees.

You can relax on the rattan furniture in the shade of the verandah that surrounds the Tasting Room, or enjoy the sun at one of the many bench tables on the lawn.

On entering the Tasting Room you will notice the cedar clad pitched roof, recycled matai flooring and the Man O’ War bar that has been crafted from sustainably sourced Kauri akin to the magnificent ancient stands that occupy the surrounding hills. Old photographs, maps and art lattice the walls and tell the story of Man O’ War’s legacy, land and wine.

Relax and enjoy on your own, or bring the family, and take simple pleasure in a delicious glass of Man O’ War wine and a tempting platter of exquisite local produce.
