Babich Wines is a family-owned and operated winery which was founded in 1916 by a Croatian immigrant, Josip Babich. Today, using this near century of winemaking experience, the Babich family produce great wines from New Zealand's finest wine regions.

Babich Wines is renowned for its Irongate range from the Hawke’s Bay's Gimblett Gravels region. Wines made from this region are sought-after for their flinty and lean characteristics and since its launch in 1985, Irongate has become one of New Zealand's most highly acclaimed wines.

The Babich Irongate range of Chardonnay and Cabernet Merlot Franc both have distinctive qualities, for all the grapes are grown in a single vineyard in the Hawke’s Bay, whose soil and dry climatic conditions combine to produce small grapes with concentrated flavours.
